Our Staff

Marcia started First Call in 1990 after having worked for a large staffing service for 8 years. (So, doing the math, she's been in the business for 28 years!)

After graduating from Ohio State with a BS in education, Marcia came to California to teach. A few years later she accidentally fell into the world of staffing and never looked back. What she loves about the "biz" is that there is never a dull moment. There are always phones to be answered, clients to meet, candidates to interview, marketing materials to be designed, dramas to be solved and the best part, putting employees and companies together. "I still get a thrill when I know we have helped someone find that perfect job and that their life will be better because of it." And, she never gets tired of hearing a client say, "You guys are the best!"

In her spare time, Marcia loves to play golf, sing with her Harmony group, go to the theater, haunt art galleries and spend time with her family and friends.

Patrice is the newest placement counselor at First Call Staffing. Patrice especially enjoys getting to know the people she places as well as understanding the needs of each client she serves. Finding the right fit for company and employee is her top priority and the goal for each placement. Patrice is married with two children who will soon both be in college and she likes to run, read, watch the Lakers and spend time with her family, friends, and many pets.

Elizabeth Alley is the Outside Sales Consultant for the Santa Monica branch. She's been with First Call for nearly 3 years. With her background in Public Relations and professional acting, she's been able to successfully translate those skills into the relationship-building sales position she enjoys with First Call. She's appeared in numerous theater productions, national commercials and episodic television including daytime dramas both in New York and Los Angeles.

Nikki signed up with First Call in 2005 then became a fulltime employee for the agency in 2007. She was promoted to a Placement Counselor in 2008 and still holds that title. Nikki has done theater in New York and Los Angeles and has appeared in a couple of episodics. She enjoys being a positive force in the employment industry and is looking forward to placing as many people as needed to change the economic fall.

Marie started with First Call in 1992 as a part-time payroll clerk. Her job quickly became fulltime and over the years she has taken over all the accounting functions, oversees payroll and takes care of human resources. Marie wears many hats and has become an expert at juggling! What Marie loves most about her job is that she gets to work with numbers and people at the same time. When she's not working, Marie enjoys hiking, exercising and being outdoors.

Although Veronica is not new to First Call (she has been the administrative assistant for the last 2 years) her title of Sales Rep is! She has recently taken over the position and is excited at the opportunity of meeting the clients she has so frequently talked to on the phone! She is also anxious to call on South Bay businesses to tell them of the advantages of using First Call. She enjoys doing special projects with her children and also enjoys biking, swimming and visiting Palm Springs.

Allison has been working as the payroll supervisor at First Call since 1995. It's ironic that she works with numbers all day as her degree from CSULB is in History! "One highlight of my job is the satisfaction I feel knowing that all of our employees have been paid each week. Another is the terrific relationships created over the years."

Allison's free time is filled with animal care, reading, gardening and visiting museums. The Hawaiian Islands are on the top of her vacation list.

Barbara started at First Call as an inside placement counselor 12 years ago and today is the senior placement counselor for the agency. She considers First Call the eharmony of the staffing industry, and finding the perfect match for her clients truly makes her day!

Barbara received her BA degree in International Relations from Ohio State University and earned her MA degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Cincinnati. Her myriad careers include teaching Spanish, airline reservationist, singer, and writer for the game show Jeopardy. In her spare time she writes children's books and musicals and roots for "her" Lakers.

Maria recently joined the First Call Staffing team bringing 10+ years of experience in customer service and office management. She graduated with a B/S degree in Accounting from Cal State Dominguez Hills but feels challenged with the many facets of working as an administrative assistant in a very busy office.

Maria has a passion to adapt to different cultures. She likes to treat everyone with the utmost respect and be as helpful as she can possibly be. Maria has a 9 month old son, a 3 year old daughter and a husband of 4 years. Her free time is spent with her family, enjoying the outdoors, and eating plenty of sweets!
