Marcia started First Call in 1990 after having worked for a large staffing service for 8 years. (So, doing the math, she’s been in the business for a very long time.)
After graduating from Ohio State with a BS in education, Marcia came to California to teach. A few years later she accidentally fell into the world of staffing and never looked back. What she loves about the “biz” is that there is never a dull moment. There are always phones to be answered, clients to meet, candidates to interview, marketing materials to be designed, dramas to be solved and the best part, putting employees and companies together. “I still get a thrill when I know we have helped someone find that perfect job and that their life will be better because of it.” And, she never gets tired of hearing a client say, “You guys are the best!”
In her spare time, Marcia loves to play golf, sing with her Harmony group, go to the theater, haunt art galleries and spend time with her family and friends.
Marie started with First Call in 1992 as a part-time payroll clerk. Her job quickly became fulltime and over the years she has taken over all the accounting functions, oversees payroll and takes care of human resources. Marie wears many hats and has become an expert at juggling! What Marie loves most about her job is that she gets to work with numbers and people at the same time. When she’s not working, Marie enjoys hiking, exercising and being outdoors.
Allison has been working as the payroll supervisor at First Call since 1995. It’s ironic that she works with numbers all day as her degree from CSULB is in History! “One highlight of my job is the satisfaction I feel knowing that all of our employees have been paid each week. Another is the terrific relationships created over the years.”
Allison’s free time is filled with animal care, reading, gardening and visiting museums. The Hawaiian Islands are on the top of her vacation list.
Candice joined the First Call team in May of 2014 and is in the Santa Monica office. She brings with her more than 13 years experience in Executive Administration and office management. She is friendly and warm and her favorite thing about staffing is helping others. She is an avid reader and an amateur, Fine Arts photographer. She is also a pet photographer and her muse is her Chihuahua, Daisy.
Shauna is an Executive Recruiter and Sr. Account Manager based in our Santa Monica office and is thrilled to be an integral part our First Call Executive Recruiting division. Her unique background in talent acquisitions for the film industry, coupled with her extensive experience in working with people one-on-one makes her a natural fit for linking talented executives with strong companies. She is also an avid world traveler, writer and photographer.
Veronica started at First Call in 2009. She was our Administrative Assistant for the first two years; she then took on a bigger role as the Outside Sales Consultant for the Torrance office.
She has the pleasure of working with clients to assist with their needs. Her kindness and ability to listen closely have helped greatly in her success in the field. Each day she strives to be the most effective, positive representative for First Call when out in the field meeting with clients, potential clients and employees.
Veronica is married with five boys. She loves to spend time with her family and enjoys being outdoors and loves to cook. Her two youngest boys keep her busy with their many sporting activities.
Viviana began working at First Call in 2015. Originally the main point of contact, she was quickly promoted to placement counselor for her ability to pair good people with good jobs. Determined to help others reach their full potential, she displays an intricate blend of interpersonal skills that lend to the authenticity of her guidance. Her experience in sales and management coupled with her degree in Psychology from CSULB have also been integral in her approach to vocational services, making her connections fulfilling and conversations effortless. Her spare time is spent just as passionately, loving her family and event planning.
Sue recently joined our First Call Staffing Team in Torrance. She enjoys answering the phone and talking to someone new every day. She has the great benefit of helping everyone in the office. She is currently pursuing her BA at California Long Beach State University. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her daughter and traveling to new places for exhilarating adventures.
