Update your resume every 6 months keeping job history and contact information current.
Only use an objective if it's relevant to the job for which you're applying; vague objectives are meaningless.
List professional experience in chronological order from most recent to oldest.
Tailor your resume for each position. Every. Single. Time.
Use professional fonts in black ink only. Do not include pictures or references to age, marital status, religion, etc.
